Hearthmother Goods was born out of her love for being in the kitchen and creating home remedies and personal care products for her family from scratch. Her firstborn daughter awakened in her a concern for what they were consuming that she had never considered before. She was proud to find natural ways to combat her daughter’s eczema and feed her family well, and thus, a crunchy mama was born. Christmas gift baskets filled with teas, fire cider, homemade healthful goodies, and of course, elderberry syrup, turned into requests from friends and family, swearing that her immune boosters helped keep them healthy. Brewing was fun, but the delivery was always an integral part of the process. She loves the beautiful county they get to enjoy and the people she meets along the way. She is thankful for the support that has turned her hobby into something that can grow.

Northbound Coffee is roasted in small batches in a vintage roaster at the base of Mount Shasta. “Behind each roast is a ritualized process aimed at crafting coffees that meet our own high standards for our single origin and blended coffees. We spend a good deal of time sourcing and selecting the finest beans, then we roast them to perfection, drawing out their best qualities. Each green bean that enters the workspace is shaped by the geography and climate of the farm where it is grown, and through our cupping process, we seek the best method for presenting the natural flavor of the coffee,” say owners Keith Hamrick and Jen Lovrak. With a combined 22 years in the coffee industry, they passionately pursue top quality coffees and are devoted to producing the perfect cup.

In 2012, Rich convinced his future wife, Niki, to move from high rise living in Portland, OR down to the farm and the two launched California Heritage Farms, a pastured based heritage pork operation. The two hit the road delivering whole and half shares from Portland to the Bay Area and quickly realized how much people were craving to connect with their food and contribute to a better food and agriculture system. Their pasture-raised heritage pork is GMO-free, antibiotic free, and growth stimulant free. With plenty of room to root and roam, their animals truly only have “one bad day.”
